Before Secret Sound Shop even began, our founders witnessed the wonderful Kate Tempest at a Sofar Sounds session in the city and fell in love. Almost a year later, we came across her at Sofar Sounds once again and knew this was our chance to finally shoot a video with her.
Two days later we met at the corner of Bowery and Spring in front of an infamous wall of graffiti, deemed “the best deal ever on real estate” in NY- a lucky guy bought it for $102,000 46 years ago and still owns it- a property with over 70 rooms! We met there where Kate performed a few poems before giving a very insightful interview with a nice backstory on how she got started doing what she does.
We parted ways and of course, we suggested nearby Pianos for a happy hour burger to her. Thank you to Sofar Sounds for bringing Kate to us, and thank you Kate, finally a magical Secret Sound Shop #29.
